Six common things that cause breast cancer

One in eight women develop breast cancer in their lifetime and breast cancer has become the second leading cause of cancer death in women. Some lifestyle changes will help reduce the chance of breast cancer. Here are six things that you should avoid.

1. Stay up late

Staying up all night will disturb the body’s biological clock and disrupt the level of hormones controlled by the brain, which leads to an increase in the risk of growing breast cancer. Studies have found that lack of sleep is linked to more aggressive breast cancer.

2. Mental stimulation

Mental stimulation can change the body’s internal environment and affect the dysfunction of the endocrine system. The abnormal secretion of one or several hormones will lead to breast hyperplasia.  Some adverse mental stimulations will also aggravate the existing breast hyperplasia. It was reported that women who experienced trauma or setbacks may have a 2-3 times higher risk of developing breast cancer.

3. Smoking

Smoking is a risk factor for breast cancer in women. A study has pointed out that smokers are 2/3 more likely to develop breast cancer than non-smokers and that women who started smoking within 5 years after menarche are 69% more likely to have breast cancer than non-smokers.

4. Abortion

Sudden changes in hormones in the body caused by abortion can induce breast diseases. Repeated breast lesions can finally become breast cancer.

5. Wearing tight underwear

A survey found that wearing tight-fitting underwear is prone to cause breast cancer, because tight underwear, including tight bras, will affect the lymphatic return and increase the risk of breast cancer.

6. Taking hormone drugs

Some women who take hormonal drugs to plim breasts or delay menopause are subject to endocrine disorders that will increase the risk of breast cancer. Therefore, the use of hormonal drugs should be taken care of and do not take high doses for a long time.
